#1 Burning Software

Hi. I burned an ISO to a DVD earlier today and deleted the source file. It worked fine: it was Knoppix. I rebooted my computer and tried to burn another ISO on. However, every time I try to open StarBurn, I get an error telling me it has stopped working. I see the splash logo, hear the drive click, and then I get hit with the error. This is what Event Viewer tells me:

What do I do? I googled the error and it seems to be a conflicting application. However, I haven't installed any new ones since I rebooted! And it seems to be a program error. I can open the wizard and actually burn the ISO fine. But the program itself won't open. Any ideas?

Please download last StarBurn v12 v4
Please uninstall your StarBurn, and install StarBurn v12 r4.

Please inform about results.

Ah...yes, I noticed there was a new version. However, I got mine through Giveaway of the Day. Will I be losing any features if I go to the newer, but free version? Or is there an update?

Like, I think my version of Starburn is like the Deluxe version or something. I think....it was a long time ago.

No, GAOTD is the most complete StarBurn version.

Exactly. Can I "upgrade" to the 'most complete' version from the GAOTD version?

If not, it's OK. I'll just download the free one.

Unfortunately according to the agreement with GAOTD we cannot release the versions we prepare for them So you have to either stick with
the current one or download free one from RDS site or wait for next GAOTD issue.

Ah. OK. I will attempt the free version; hopefully it should work!

EDIT: And it did! Worked perfectly. I found out I *just* missed the GOTD version for Starburn 12: no! It's OK, though. The free version should work good until then.

We'll have updated version for both RDS & GAOTD very soon. Probably few weeks from now.
