Hi,

I am trying to cancel erasing of DVD+RW disc, however it seems like it doesn't take effect. I am wondering if erasing can be canceled at all? Is it media dependent?

Thanks,
Vladimir

Erase cannot be safely cancelled.

I've been trying it with CD-RW media as well. When canceling the process, it takes just as long as the full erase process. So is it not possible to cancel erasing? Or only under certain conditions (hardware/media)? I'd rather not offer a "cancel" feature in my application if it does not work anyway. I'd appreciate if you could be more specific than "cannot be safely cancelled" :)

In general we do send "async" erase command pinging device with it's status request until it's done. But some of the devices may treat
"async" erase as "sync"... In this case the only way to cancel is - unit reset & eject. Usually leaves the burner in the instable state.

So in simple words: It only works if the device supports it?
