Hello,

1) Excellent!

2) Yes, size is ok! We have reworked the audio engine.

Dmitry

Are the other DLLs like ogg.dll, vorbisfile.dll, and vorbis.dll still needed then?

Hello,

Yes, you are right! You can put them in a garbage :)

Hm, seems like you made a good release here. So far no new user complaints, after 250k installations ;)

Just for the record, I need to take that statement back a little.

The stability is not sufficient. I am not sure why there are not as many user complaints as I would expect, but this release causes too many "weird" errors like mentioned in http://www.starburnsoftware.com/forum/starburn-sdk-f3/contextswitchdeadlock-com-mda-erros-with-latest-release-t2222.html
I can hardly get my application working properly in debug mode, and also received some user complaints in regard to a crashed or non responding application (maybe the absence of error messages in these cases reduce the number of user complaints), so I will revert to an older release again until a new version is available that does not suffer from such issues.

Hello,

It's not good news. All StarBurnX builds are located here: link was removed

Dmitry

No problem, I still got the old releases. Just make sure you get a new release ready as soon as possible. It would be beneficial if you had a shorter "release cycle". As it is now, every "major" release also seems to have at least one major flaw, and if I can't hope for quick fixes, my only option is to revert to older releases.

Unfortunately it's not doable with ~15 megabytes of source code.

Hm, I don't think 15MB of source code is a reason not to have smaller incremental releases. It's only a matter of how much you change, because the code can't break if you don't change it ;)

Well, I'll leave this to you, but I strongly believe there is still room for improvement here. Keep in mind that you'll get free QA from me and many thousand users if you throw releases at me more often :)

We don't apply mods exclusively related to your app, there are a lot of in between.

Yep, I guessed so. But I'd also be willing to "test" releases that do not have fixes specifically for my application. I just need something that doesn't have or introduces critical bugs, or if it does, gets fixed soon so that I can have another try.

As it stands, I didn't get a version without any serious new bugs since end of 2010. If the time spans between the releases is as much as a couple of months, it is only natural that each release introduces new bugs that again prevent me from using it, even though other bugs are fixed. It's a very uncomfortable situation for me, because my users just blame me for not caring about open issues for so long, while in fact I desperately try to get things fixed by working together with you.

Hello,

1) It's reasonable!
2) Could you check the new version of StarBurnX ( v.13 )!

Best Regards,

Dmitry

Hm...doesn't look good on first check. Attempted to burn an audio disc in debug mode and got a "disconnectedContext" MDA (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2c1czate.aspx). App hangs after that. Issue seems to be reproducible.
