Hi,

as you know I am currently in the process of switching from Numedia Soft to your SDK. After finishing the implemenation based on StarBurnX, I disconvered that the UDfDataBurner is FAR too slow for usage (adding files to the image).

For comparison (using 7635 files, 795 folders, total 1.6GB):
Crappy old NMS SDK: 16 seconds
StarBurnX v13.1: 30 minutes+ (and it's not even halfway through, I just grew impatient like any of my users will do).

Can you please do something about that? I won't mind if StarBurn is a few seconds slower, but this is certainly not acceptable.

Particulary slow methods are:
CreateFolder
AddFileEx
GetFileObject

Best regards,
Florian

Do you have traces enabled and something catching logged messages? Or do you profiling against release build?

If done the comparison using a release build with no logging enabled.

Comment from one of my beta testers:

Quote:
...adds stuff to compilation layout incredibly slowly - I was adding two folders of about 90 GB size and progress bar is hanging on each file for several tens of seconds - after about 6 hours, when it was still adding, I stopped whole process, tried to restart computer and make compilation again, but it was exactly the same. I then tried completely different external disk with 27 GB folder (to make sure that the problem wasn't caused by some error on first disk), but that was the same slowness as well (I stopped adding after about 3 hours when it still wasn't done). I gave up and uninstalled that 4.5 completely and installed back old version 4.3.8.2560 [NMS SDK] and it works now fine as usual - adding that 27 GB folder took like 2 minutes and it is now burned without problem

Nice, now you're as fast as NMS. Being "just as fast" is probably not a good selling point, but good enough for me :)
Thanks!
