Calling StarBurn_CdvdBurnerGrabber_GetMediaTrayStatus always returns FALSE, FALSE. I use: LG BH16NS40 with fw 1.00 and 1.01, on Windows7 x64, StarBurn SDK v13.3 (msvcrt, dynamic, amd64).
TestUnitReadyExEx works fine, and return immediately if media is not present. Drives are working ok, Windows and other applications can detect tray status on them.
Does anyone have similar experience or a solution?

Thanks,
Tamas

Hello Dima,

I further tested the situation. It is not related to the type of drive, but caused by something related to the motherboard (SATA controller, driver, etc.). Currently I use Intel DQ77MK. The problem doesn't appear on other motherboards I could test. Further I installed an LSI SAS controller into the Intel motherboard and plugged one LG drive to the SAS the other to the SATA on the motherboard. Tray status is reported correctly through the SAS controller, but gives wrong result through the SATA. I attach the logs. Test were run twice. First both drives' tray open, second closed and media present.

Thanks,
Tamas

Forum file upload is not working for me. I try again and also send it to support@rocketdivision.com.

Hello Tomas,

We have received your logs. And drive returned info that tray is locked and media isn't present.
Which other application detects media right?

For example ImgBurn (2.5.8) in Discovery mode shows tray status in the bottom status bar, and it changes in the moment I push the tray inward (it doesn't wait until the tray closes).
Also if I enable Windows Autoplay on the drive it seems to use tray status info.
In my application I show the graphical representation of the drive. My problem is that I cannot update the status if the user pushes the tray back and doesn't place a disc on it. Polling TestUnitReady doesn't give enough info in that case, only GetMediaTrayStatus can report empty closed tray.

Thanks,
Tamas

I was able to reproduce the behavior with LG BH10LS30 as well, but I have no other types at the moment.
