I'm interested in finding out a bit more about how this works. I know the sdk supports dual layer burning but how does it do it exactly? for example, if I create an iso with 6+gig of data can I sepcify which files are burnt on which layer?...is there a way to specify how much data I burn on each layer (example 3gig on both layers instead of filling up first layer).

I also read somewhere a bit about Opposite Track Path and Parallel Track Path....is this an option you can set before the recording process or is this determined by the hardware used?

1) From the programmers point of view double layer DVD+R are just normal DVD+R with nearly doubled capacity. All layer changing stuff is isolated inside StarBurn and is completely transparent to the end-user.

2) We have special undocummented API to set where split would happen - at 1/2 of the disc (usually recommended for DVD-Video) or when first layer would be recorded completely (default mode for data recording as it allows to use maximum capacity). But we prefer this API to be private. Just for your own safety :-)

Thanks for the reply anton - one question you didn't answer though is PTP/OTP is there an option for these burning methods?

Whoops... Sorry ))

OK. There are no way to change programmatically how DVD+R DL track spiral rotation would happen - from inner side of the disc or from outer side of the disc. The only thing we can do - set split point. So recorded DVD-Video disc would have smallest possible diameter of the recorded surface.
