I have no idea why you locked the previous topic, but it seems that your testing result is completely different. I think you are little bit angry, right ?

Quote:
1) Nero says "DVD-Video compilation placing error" and warns about possible DVD unplayability b/s of DVD-Video spec violation. And resulting DVD-Video *DOES NOT* play on my PIONEER S35 player (very strict one). Nero recorded DVD simply hangs the device so it's not possible to eject the disc w/o powering the device off. Could provide you with a screenshot of Nero and hang S35 if required.

I think I've asked you - MAKE SURE SOURCE VIDEO IS OK. I can accept your player works (a lot of cheap devices just don't care much about DVD specs and play virtually everything) but I don't think Nero did not warn you about problems with content... Why did not you tell me about this?

I swear I didn't get the "DVD-Video compilation placing error" before, I am using Nero OEM 6.6.0.16
As you can see from the original IFO files and Nero patched IFO files which I uploaded before, Nero did edit the IFO files which makes the unplayable DVD becoming playable.

2) StarBurn does PATCH IFOs. I'm attaching the log below. It's clear the offsets in source and destination files are different. I've put my IFO/BUPs into "StarBurn" folder on ftp to your movie. You may check and compare them with your ones.

Again, your testing result is simply not the same as me.

I wonder is it because of incomplete VOB files, actually I can simply ship two DVD discs to you, one is burned by Starburn, another one is burned by Nero. I can take care of the shipping fee, just let me know the shipping address. I think this can make the process more easy.

Please understand that I just want to solve the problem, surely I am not as professional as you, but as I can see, this problem does exist and should be able to solved.

Let me know what do you think.

Thanks.

I've closed old topic b/s it's too large one now. I don't think anybody would be able to follow it completely. That's the only reason.

No, I'm not angry.

I'm using Nero 7.0 Premium. Maybe they changed DVD-Video mastering engine a lot. NP, I'll check 6.6.x version (also have it installed on the other machine).

I think I was pretty clear about "making sure new compilation works". It's the one you've created (small one) and not original. For original one I think it's possible for StarBurn not to change anything. Would you finally provide me with a log of this operation?

I'll check with IfoEdit and VobEdit what Nero patched in IFOs.

OK, I've added Menu VOB offsets patching code (the place where Nero shows differences between source and destination files) and now our patching should work in the same way. Would you please try latest StarBurn.dll (sent by e-mail) using original files set as the compilation you've uploaded does not work with anything at all. Thanks!

Do you still need this LOG file?

But my program is using static link, so I can't try this dll file.

Thanks.
