Just adding some more info. I got a Plextor PX-716A and a NEC ND-3550A. The Plextor does SessionAtOnceRawRawPW fine. The NEC however fails with the same error. I've got a BenQ 1640 on order and when it gets here I'll test it out as well and let you know if it also fails.

It also depends upon disc pattern. I'm working with NEC 4550 right now.

Ok. I just got the BenQ 1640 drive in. I tried the same media I tried with the Plextor 740a, 716a and NEC 3550A. Again the same CDB error happens. That means 1 out of 4 drives could write using SessionAtOnceRawRawPW. Could this possibly a starburn bug? Just so you know I updated all drives to their latest firmwares.

Again - it does depend upon particular track pattern. Would you please send me a log and description of what you're trying to burn?

Do you mean the Starburn log of the SessionAtOnceRawRawPW.exe when it failes? If so that is the log I put in at the begining of this thread. I'm trying to burn a MDS image of a Audio CD on to a RiData and No-Name brand CD-R media. The MDS image was created using GrabDisc.exe. Just let me know what you need. I'd really like to be able to use one of these other drives in our product. We will be shipping the first units with Plextor drives for now(as soon as I finish the software and pay for your liscense) so don't think you have to rush this.

P.S. I'll try to get the exact media information.

Ok. I got the disc info. The No-Name brand was actually Taiyo Yuden(80 minutes). The one that came in a RiData package was actually a Plasmon disc.

P.S. I asked a quesiton in another thread about canceling a burn/grab job from inside the starburn_callback. Could you answer that one or should I wait for a reply in the other thread(It was in the Reading CDText thread).

We've got similar problem with mds burning.
Device seemes to support RAW SAO+SUB, however, SessonAtOnceRawRawPW fails.

Yes, if drive's telling something it does not mean we can trust it. RAW SAO + SUB is the worst mode for raw CD copy. RAW DAO is the best (when most of the work is done in the software). Basically there's nothing we can do with these drives except you may check new firmware - maybe they would fix their bugs in some of the upcoming release...
