Hello,
I'm writing a program and intend to use Starburn SDK for writing multisession dvds and the number of multisessions will have to be 100 or more. I heard that there exsists something called "incremental writing" (udf vat) for dvds and "packet recording" for cds:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_ ... VAT_flavor
...and that using that method no overhead per write is required. However I googled for a SDK that supports that and I found none. Does anybody know anything about that and will it be supported in the future in Starburn SDK?
And the other thing I want to know is: how much space per session is "wasted" when using DVD multisession and how much MB do padding, "lead-in" and "lead-out" (or "block-in" and "block-out") consme. I read somewhere that the number is 13 MB for cds (28 MB for the first session) and 8-16 MB for a DVD.
I also read that the maximum number of sessions for a DVD+R is 191.
Does anybody know the exact figures and whether there are differences between DVD+R and DVD-R and the filesystem used (ISO or UDF)?
Thanks,
Hrvoje
