I'm trying to create a CD-Extra format disc. I'm burning using DiscAtOnceRawRawPW.

First I burn several audio tracks with IsNextSessionAllowd=TRUE.

I then try to burn a data track.
I am reading the invisible track to determine if the disc has been closed(since elsewere in the forum it says DISC_STATUS is inacurate).
I am unable to read the invisible track. This makes me thing the disc is closed(also stated in the forums). What could I be doing wrong?

Some more info.

I'm reading the trackinfo for the last audio track of the first session and m__BOOLEAN__IsNextWritableAddressValid is coming back 0 even though I've specified IsNextSessionAllowed=TRUE.

You cannot do what you want to do. Neither with StarBurn not with anything else on Earth. Very few devices support "TAO after DAO" and no single device would allow you to burn incremental sessions in DAO mode. The whole idea of having Disc-At-Once is to have whole disc burned at once and not with track-by-track approach.

So either use DAO and compile full disc layout at once or use TAO and proceed track-by-track.

Ok, just so you know though I was using DAOFile and then DAOtree to do audio then data. Not TAO.

1. How do I compile a DAO job that has multiple sessions?

2. TAO doesn't let me have zero time between audio tracks. Does SAO allow that?

3. I assume this means IsNextSessionAllowed option in DAO is ignored?

I do understand :)

1) You can use DISC_LAYOUT structure passing single data track and multiple audio tracks. But data followed with audio (Mixed Mode), no audio follwed by the data (CD-Extra). This is StarBurn DAO engine limitation.

2) There is a way to set variable gap between audio tracks in TAO (editing pause length in Write Parameters Mode Page), however most of the drives just ignore this. For SAO it's also possible to compile gap-less CUE SHEET but it would fail too often (just as with RAW SAO + SUB). So the only reliable way is DAO16 and DAO96.

3) Yes, exactly! Should we highlight this thing somewhere in the docs?

1. Then how can I coipy a CD-Extra disc? This is an absolute requirement. Did I waste a year of my time and all the money we've spent on this?

2.So in other words it's not possible to do a gapless CD-Extra disc with starburn.

3. Yes that would have been nice. I wouldn't have spent two days and 100 CDs trying to get it to work.

1) You cannot copy a CD-Extra disc with StarBurn.

2) You cannot create CD-Extra disc with StarBurn at all. Neither gapless or whatever.

3) Sure! It's axiomatic thing so we've missed it completely.

OK, this all starts to be a little bit messy... Please contact me personally at anton@rocketdivision.com with complete list of the requirements and as much information about your project in general as you'd be able to provide us with. And we'll try to find a solution. Thanks!
