I'm using VB.net (vs2005) and the OCX to burn data CD's.

I read and compare the data after burning to verify the data is burned properly. On some of the burners I'm testing with, the data is not visible until the CD is ejected and then reloaded. (I'm concerned this would be a problem if using a laptop drive that has to be closed by hand).

The data is not visible using my program or Windows explorer. Even after my burning program has closed, I still can't see the information. The burner I'm using is a Memorex CD/DVD burner. I moved the burner to a different machine and it follows the burner. Other burners worked fine. I have a couple other clients testing the software that have the same problem happen when they burn.

Are there any ideas how to 'refresh' the data besides opening and shutting the CD tray?

Steve,

what mode are you using for the burning? TAO? If yes - try to flash latest firmware into the burner. I've seen in helping in the case like yours. However to work reliably with ALL of the devices and ALL of the burning modes (TAO, SAO and DAO) only eject seems to work...

Thanks!

I'm using TAO (track at once). I'll just stick to the eject & reload method. Thanks for the info!
