You can burn DivX .avi movie to the DVD in data mode and if your stand-alone DVD player supports MPEG4 (most of the cheap today players are) you should be able to play the movie just fine. If you do need to create DVD-Video (MPEG2) from the DivX .avi (MPEG4) then you need to take VirtualDub to do recompression, DVD Author to do DVD authoring and then StarBurn to burn resulting VIDEO_TS folder to your DVD media. In any case I think nice place for you to start is
http://www.doom9.org/. Good luck

I am trying to burn a DivX video to DVD. My question is does this program support Divx and if not can you make any suggestions for a free program that will convert since I am disabled and quite poor?
Thanks so much,
