Please issue us with the StarBurn log. No log = no help. Sorry...

The problem is that it doesn't even detect the drive as CD Burner, it doesn't appear in select drive dialog, though it is a cd burner.

Log file looks like this (2 lines):

StarBurn CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Burning, Grabbing and Mastering Toolkit for Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/Longhorn Version 7.2.20 ( 0x20070220 )

The problem is what you've provided is a log of the RELEASE version rather then DEBUG we've need from you. Take a look at the FAQ, check how to generate correct debug log and send it to us. B/c w/o the log it's not clear what problem you have - lack of rights, improper device properties check etc etc etc.

Burner has inserted "closed" CD so it cannot burn to it. For some reason with closed CD inserted it also reports bogus data as supported write modes so StarBurn thinks it's a READER. Please insert blank CD-R or CD-RW and try again. Thanks!

The drive does not understand the media inserted. Can you burn to the same blank CD with the other burning application you probably have?

We were making a slight error the media was in the non burner drive, however placing the media in the correct drive makes no difference.

We have just been able to burn to the CD with windows native burner.

Erase the log and use some of the console samples from the StarBurn to generate one. For now it is 1) oversized 2) has huge random calls and media inserted and ejected. I cannot understand what\s up...

Here is a little shorter log. Not from console app though (from SDK AudioBurner). Without eject/insert.
BTW the stuff is running on Vista.

OK, getting closer :) If I'm correct you've launched application and inserted blank CD later (not before the app was started). Is this correct?

Actually the problem is not on my machine. I'm just reposting logs.

Also the problem is before insert/eject, it just doesn't show burner in burners list. I guess it should show burner and mark that there is no media or whatever.

The CD was inserted before the application was launched.
