StarWave.log grows by about 5MB - reaching the height of its increase just before the actual burn begins. I erased the file and examined it's progress on the next burn.

Don't enabled StarWave logging unless you're debugging something. Very simple. If you need to drive - release parking brake.

The long delay happens regardless - enabling StarWave logging just makes it even longer. I think using logging merely served to identify the source of the delay.

And I've already told you why you have delay when doing compressed audio burns - we need to decode all the content "in forward" to know EXACT track size.
