Sorry to possibly open a new thread but I need some assistance.

I use some DVD Backup software which has Starburn.dll. I have been using on product for well over a year and it worked fine until very recently.

I now get the following error:

writting failed, exception 8, status 31, text 'Cstarburn_ScsiTransportASPI::Execute CDB(): Command failed

I searched the internet but could find very little about this error.

So I obtained another DVD Backup product and I got exactly the same error. I then noticed that it also had the Starburn.dll and checked the Strings in this DLL to find that it showed the corresponding error text components. That gave me a starting point to track done the problem to this forum.

I checked this forum and, while not the exact same error appear in another post in 2007, it mentioned that that user should submit a Log File or Log Text.

I would really like to dig down and find out what this problem is. So, how do I do a Log and what do you need to know ?

Much appreciated if you would help with this

Thanks
Ben

We do support StarBurn SDK here, we don't support any products based on the top of the StarBurn SDK. We really require quite a lot of the activities from the programmers (making sure they use the most recent version of the DLL, making sure they do use proper sequence of API calls when calling StarBurn, extracting correct logs etc etc etc). As a product user you'll simply not be able to do anything, you cannot even replace DLL with the one up-to-date as you don't have your product key (embedded into application executable). So... We simply CANNOT help you, even keeping in mind we're really WILLING to. In your case "CDB failed" means some command completed with error. But to know what exactly happened we need extended debug log your vendor had to take care of sending to us. You cannot do it. W/o the log we cannot help.
