Hello Support,

I am using DataBurner class. Currently doing multi-session section. I want to finalize the disc for all the supported disc types. Before burning I need to finalize the disc with DataBurner.NextSessionAllowed property. But how to decide when to finalize the disc?

Is overburning functionality supported? Though I will finalize the disc but with overburn will be lets me burn some more data (as per the documentation in Wiki). How much space we should leave for finalize or close session process?

One more question what is meaning of formatted DVD-RW in "The BD-R, BD-RE, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM discs and formatted DVD-RW are *always* appendable. You cannot finalize them!"

Thank you in advance.

This means exactly what it says. You cannot finalize them.

You've asked multiple questions so I have no clue about what's the main one. Should you finalize? I don't know... If you plan to append the disc - probably not. If you don't want to append the disc - yes, definitely. Is overburning supported? Yes, for all of the Disc-At-Once modes, most of the Session-At-Once and some of Track-At-Once (second two ones are hardware dependent and firmware dependent).

Hello,

Got the mistake. OK, Will ask different questions in different topics.

About finalization, let's take an example :
1) I am having 700 MB CD-R disc.
2) In the DataBurner object added data about 685 MB to burn on the disc
3) I want to ask user about whether to finalize disc
4) But in this case should I ask the question and let the disc appendable but after burning I may come to know that disc is 695 MB used.
5) So basic question is how much space is required to finalize disc for all kinds of discs?

Space is different for all of the media types and burning modes. Keep spare ~30MB for CDs and ~50MB for DVDs (last session).
