Ok, thanks for the answer. I'll tell the user to redo the test with WAV files in CD Quality, using the Disc-at-once Raw P-W burn mode to see if it works.

I'll let you know about the results.

Regards,
Mikael

Here comes the reply from the user:

Quote:
Well I have some interesting things here. It seems that the album that I tried to burn in the initial case was the problem for this. I converted the initial album and a second one (both FLAC) to wave and tried to burn it with Disc-at-once Raw P-W and testing mode. The initial one crashes but the second one works.
Don’t know what’s going on here but seems to be file related in a way. But I can’t see a difference between the files.

So, my next question is, should he upload one of the WAV's thats failing to you?

Regards,
Mikael

Not really... He've used incompatible WAVs that's why if failed. On your place I'd add content verification BEFORE passing it to the StarBurn. So you could reject the files BEFORE we'll do it.

Thanks for the reply and previous help and sorry for my delayed reply.
The first question remains though;

StarBurn as reported that the users drive supports Disc-at-once PQ mode but when he burns using this mode he gets the exception 8.
Switching to Disc-at-once P-W Raw works (with correct WAV files).

Shouldn't Disc-at-once PQ be excluded from the list of available modes instead of accidentialy using it and receive an exception?

Thanks,
Mikael

No! It could be current firmware issue. Ask user update to the most recent one.

OK, I think I did this the last time and he told me that he had the most recent drivers, but I will doublecheck it.

I'll let you know about the result.

Regards & thanks,
Mikael

There were no new firmware/drivers available for this LG drive, although a few users has reported problems with it on LG's site.

Please let me know if you need any more details from me/my user.

Thanks,
Mikael

Then just wait for the fixed one to be released.

After we'll get the unit locally we'll be able to approve the status (StarBurn bug Vs. device firmware bug). But as DAO96 works fine I don't think there's any sense in remote debugging / logging right now...

Sure! Please keep us updated. We'll do it ourselves as well.

Where should I send the logs? (Starburn.log and StarWave.log)
