Hi,

Ok, I have made an application for a client based on your Audio Burner sample in C#. So it is CD Audio Burner application. I have tested it on Vista and XP and it is working (the client tested it on Windows 7 too and it was working there too).

However, on client's Vista PC is causing problems. They get couple of manifestations: either the burning process will go on indefinitely and never finishes, or when it finishes (with success error code) then the audio cd is not readable! I.e. the client says that physically there is a recording on the CD, but files can't be seen in explorer or played in any Audio CD players.

The client Drive is 'TEAC - DVD+-RW DVW28SLC - A.06'. As I've checked, it is not in the list of supported drives.

I've instructed the user to perform standard tests: change the CD Brand, check for firmware update of the Drive (there wasn't any), burn Audio CD with some different application (was successful with Roxio) but to no avail.

I'm sending you in the attachment the starburn and starwave logs (there are 5 sessions and the client put all of them in one file, so I separated starburn logs per session, but I couldn't do that for starwave.log since I couldn't find where one session starts and ends - sorry!)

Is there are a way out of this situation?

Thanks,
Goran.

Turn your software to use SPTD rather then SPTI. There's a software conflict with broken Roxio filter drivers.

How would I do that? I'm using StartBurnX from C#, VS2005.

Thanks,
Goran.

Hello,

You should get the latest update of StarBurnX from our ftp:

link was removed

Use the StarBurnX.InitializeEx function to activate SPTD transport.

Note:

1) Register the new version of StarBurnX by regsvr32 utility;
2) Remove the old reference on the StarBurnX ( "RocketDivision.StarBurnX.Interop" ) from your .NET project and add the new reference on the "StarBurnX 10.0 Type Library" - [Add Reference ->COM]

Regards,

Dmitry Bortsov

Hi,

Thanks for the help so far!

OK, I've done that (Initialize with SPTD), but the client got the following error:
"Component not initalized:
Unsupported transport:"

Does this means that SPTD is not supported on the device? So what other alternatives do I have here?

You said in the previous posts that: "There's a software conflict with broken Roxio filter drivers." If this is the case, how would I fix this - just uninstalling Roxio doesn't help?!

Thanks,
Goran.

This means you have to install SPTD layer before you're trying to use SPTD transport. This will allow to bypass Roxio filter.

Ok ,

I've instructed the user to install sptd from here: http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads - but the problem remains!

I'm sending the log files as attachment.

Thank you,
Goran.

Everything is correct. Please use our code to get TOC after eject / load (so we could see what's actually written to the disc). And you may also ask user to install some free tool (say IsoBuster) and send us track layout screenshot.
