Is it possible to determine acurately if an inserted disc is a pressed DVD? I know booktype can be set on DVD+R discs. Will this make the DISC_TYPE information inaccurate?

If properly finalized and book type set - no. It would be reported as stamped media. No difference. I'll check for other ways however. Please give me a day or two.

OK. I've failed to find a solution... At least apps I've tried (like Nero and DVDINFOTOOL) tell DVD-ROM for properly finalized DVD+R / -R media...

Let's do it in this way: You'll find at least one application capable of finding out stamped DVD-ROM was really recordable before, point to us at it and we'll try to find out the way it works.

OK?

Thanks for trying. I had researched it also and never found any software that could tell the difference on a properly finalized disc. A customer of ours wants the ability. i guess they will be disappointed.

It's a pity :( I'll inform you if I'd occasionally came up to some workaround. Sorry!

Did you try it and it worked for you where f.e. Nero failed or is it just your guess?
