Hello,

Quick question regarding erase time. My test drive is:
'LITE-ON ' - 'DVDRW SOHW-812S ' - 'US0Q'
and a fast erase takes just over 2 mins with the supplied Blank.exe demo (i get same results in my program). Nero's fast erase takes less than 1 minute. Is this expected? Does Nero do something differently in this case to make it that much fast?

Which media are you using? At least for DVD+RW/DVD-RAM erases are really different (I mean Nero Vs. StarBurn).

Also there seems to be an issue with StarBurn and setting DVD speeds on some of the drives (Sony/LiteOn included). Would you please send me the erase log to anton@rocketdivision.com so I would confirm this potential problem. If yes - fix would be included to the upcoming StarBurn version.

Thanks and waiting for the log :)

Go the log. For DVD+RW/-RAM media StarBurn writes zeros to noticable part of the media (to destroy original file system structures). Nero just writes small "zero content" volume. That's why Nero and StarBurn erase speeds are different.

Is this really so important for you to have 1 or 2 minutes for erease process? :)

no.. its not important.. i was just curious because starburn takes almost twice as long so i just wanted to make sure it was the correct behaviour.

thanks for your quick reply as usual!
