I'm new to the SDK and hoping it will help resolve the issues I've run into with bluray and UDF. I'm looking to use the SDK to format BD-R and BD-RE disks as UDF (probably 2.01), then copy various file types to the disks. File sizes will vary from several hundred megabytes to tens of gigabytes. I'll be using VC++ 2003 on Windows XP. What samples should I look at to get a better understanding of the steps I need to take for formatting a BD-R or BD-RE for UDF and writing files to the disk?

You don't need StarBurn at all to achieve this goal. Rather you need Packet-At-Once UDF driver (like the one coming with Longhorn & Vista). But PAO is dog slow & waste of space and not reliable :) Try using it in Vista and check the time you'll spend just dropping the files to the f.e. DVD+RW media...

Vista isn't really a solution for me. If the Starburn SDK will work for me, I'd like to give it a try. I'm just looking for a little help in figuring out which samples that are included with the SDK I can look at for an example of either creating UDF on a disk or writing to BD-R or BD-RE disks, or both. Any suggestions?

We don't have Packet-At-Once UDF burning... So you cannot format the disc into UDF with the StarBurn and drag-n-drop files in the explorer.

DAO is for CD media only, stick with TAO for DVD, BD & HD DVD.
