Should I SetSpeed before Get###Information

Should I SetSpeed before I use GetDisc/TOC/TrackInformation commands? Basically I'm asking if the SetSpeed has any effect on these commands and if so should I set 1x when using them for best read and then do anothber SetSpeed with my user selected speed(ie 2x,4x,8x...48x etc). I'm using the GetTOCInformation to find out if the inserted disc is a CD or DVD which will also effect what user selected speed I set for the actual rip/burn.

Well... The difference would be very small or even non-existing. So I don't think you need to change anything
