Hi,

I was just evaluating the Dec 28 StarburnX DvdVideoBurner.exe. There seems to be a problem with something related to Plextor PX-800A drives.

Edit: This is only a problem in test mode, therefore minor.

Upon completion of test burning a DVD and getting the message that the disk was burned successfully I click OK. The Pioneer and Lite-On drives promptly eject the disk. The Plextor drive does not eject the disk, I must eject it manually. Also, I noted that the Plextor takes longer to burn, all cases set to 8X.

Note, the Lite-on and Pioneer drives are SATA and the Plextor is IDE.

Any ideas? Can I provide you with any other information?

Bob

I am ready to use the StarburnX SDK and buy the license, however I see some problems.

Our studio uses Panasonic DVD equipment, mainly:
DMR-E55 (mfg 2004)
DMR-E20 (mfg 2002)
We have hundreds of hours of DVD's recorded by these models and it is a requirement for us that our copies play on them.

The DVD's I burned usng the StarburnX C# DvdVideoBurner.exe and Starburn SDK Cbuilder VideoBurner.exe will not play on these Panasonic DVD players/recorders. The menue is dsplayed but the disk will not play. The master will auto play shortly after it is placed in the drive. I tried with and without the 1GB paddng.
Note, these are the sample .exe programs, not my code.

I burned the same data usng NERO (default settings, 8X speed), those DVD's work just like the master. (also, in test mode - NERO properly ejects the disk using the plextor burner)

Would you please look into this? Please let me know if you need more specifc data.

Thanks.
Bob

StarBurn core had some issues with this Plextor device but they have been fixed some time ago. I need to check do Dima has recent sources to build StarBurnX wrapper from.

In any case this is minor communications issue and I'll be able to help you after January 12th when I'll be back :)

Thank you for your patience!

Hi Anton,
I am still interested in this problem. This was a "show stopper", but I will reconsider. (for now I'm doing my Plan "B")

Please issue us with the logs of the problem and also give a try to the latest StarBurnX build. It's built on the top of the new StarBurn core so particular Plextor should work fine.

I'm sorry, I was not clear. I am not reffering to the minor Plextor issue. I am reffering to this:

OK, you're third guy having the same issues with the StarBurn DVD-Video and I really have to fix it... These are good news for now :)

Could you please give a try to this build:

http://www.rocketdivision.com/downloads ... 080215.zip

just use DVDVideoBuildImageEx to create ISO and burn it with Nero. Send me the log and let me know did it work or not.

Thank you!

The link to the zip file is dead. I noticed that your website changed, maybe that is the reason?

I Ran DVDVideoBuildImageEx.exe to make an iso file. I'm not sure what version I ran, snce I copied the dll's you sent in the .exe folder. Anyway, I burned dvd's from the iso using nero and 1 other program. Both worked on the newer player and both failed on the older player.

I would think an iso image would produce a duplicate of the master. Do you have a duplicator machine? There is a compare feature that will tell you if DVD's compare.

I could not build, .. I need some help to complete the test and give you a log :

1) Fine, so it's really issue inside the core and not inside StarBurnX wrapper.

2) You don't include all the LIBs into the project that's why you cannot build executable.

Ok, I will keep trying. Meanwhile, do you have enough information from me? Let me know if you want me test a new version.

If you mean DVD-Video issues we have more then enough of it from the other guys. We'll check the version with them and then we'll kindly ask you to run the tests :) Thank you!
