The StopPlayScan routine works and is needed for a CD to show the information in a session that has just finished burning.

However, on a DVD-R media in the same drive, StopPlayScan fails. When I comment out the command, the DVD reads the newest session just fine, so it looks like it is not needed.

A couple of questions:

1. Am I correct in assuming that StopPlayScan is only needed for CD's to refresh the data on the disc, but is not needed for DVD-R, DVD+R or dual-layer DVD-R media?

2. Should StopPlayScan fail when run on a DVD disc? I would think that it should just return a SUCCESS result without doing anything, so that the developer doesn't have to figure out whether it should be called for the media in the drive.

3. If it should fail on a DVD, please show this in the documentation. I could not find anything useful about this issue in the documentation.

StopPlayScan should be used only for Track-At-Once & CD recording. For Session-At-Once and Disc-At-Once it would not work (and would not update anything - full eject required), and for DVD media it just not required to call StopPlayScan. We'll put this into documentation. Thanks!
