StarBurn freezes when I click Properties of the select Sony OptiAarc AD-7220S DVD RW drive after inserting a CD-R disc that has files on it. The problem does not occur when I click on Properties of the Sony OptiArc DDU1675S DVD-ROM drive with the same CD inserted. I tried end tasking StarBurn but it does not work. I tried to restart the computer and it hangs at while shutting down and I need to press the reset button to reboot. The HDD light remains on continously as shown in the desktop.jpg when the system freezes after clicking on the Properties button of the selected burner drive. I have an EVGA X58 3X SLI motherboard with Core i7 920 processor in a Cooler Master HAF932 case, 12GB of RAM and Windows Vista SP2 64-bit. I have recently purchased StarBurn to get tech support and have emailed all attached files to tech support.

Fow now we've got the sam burner and same OS and are trying to reproduce the issue. No luck so far :( Let's proceed in e-mail as it's more StarBurn SDK + PowerArchiver issue then StarBurn itself. Thanks!

The problem only occurs with CD media, not DVD media.

OK, this is INFORMATION. Can you burn to the same media and the same burner with other burning app?

I can burn to same media to same drive with other burning software such as ImgBurn, Roxio, CDBurnerXP, UltraISO. The problem only occurs when I try to query the drive and inserted CD media using the properties button on the StarBurn interface. PowerArchiver also automatically queries the drive and CD media when I launch the burner tool.

Can you live chat with PowerArchiver at http://www.powerarchiver.com/support/. The live chat is only available a few hours per day. The live chat closes at about noon EST. Also contact the drive manufacturer at http://www.sony-optiarc.us/en/contact/c ... form2.html. The model number is AD-7220S.

We don't need this as we're working with them already. Thank you anyway :)

OK, so we've finally managed to fix this bug (which is actually burner's firmware bug so we've workarounded it our software). Your original software vendor has the updated StarBurn SDK library so they should issue you with an update ASAP. Please contact them :)
