Hello Support,
I am using a SONY CD/DVD Writer DRU-190A. As per the specification of a drive it is supporting maximum Read Speed as 48x & write support as 48x.
But I am using DriveInfo class, it is giving me maximum Read Speed as 52x. Which is wrong other softwares confirms that this drive supports maximum 48x read speed.
Same is the case for Write Speed also. Will you please kindly look into that.
Thank you in advance.

It's not clear do you have disc inserted at the time you're calling API to get maximum supported burning speeds or not. Please provide logs.

Hello Support,

The query is about getting the wrong write and read speed.
I am using a SONY CD/DVD Writer DRU-190A. As per the specification of drive, it is supporting the max read speed as 48x and write speed as 48x.
The same information is received when I am using the other softwares. When I use the Starburn code for disc information – I am using DriveInfo class and using the function DriveInfo.SupportedWriteSpeeds().
This finally gives the read and writes speed as 52x even though the Disc is not inserted. Also, if the data disc CD(R) is inserted, it ALWAYS shows the read and write speed as 52x.
I want to know why it is giving the wrong speed.

With no disc inserted drive will return maximum supported speed. With disc inserted - maximum supported speed for drive + disc combination. To find out what's wrong (if) you've been asked to provide logs.

Hello Support,

Please find the attached log from me (Deepakp) with subject about the Drive Information.

The thing to be discussed is that even though there is no disc in drive and if the drive is supporting the both (read and write) speed as 48X, so why the object is giving the speeds as 52X (Both speeds).

The next is that can you please specify when the next release of StarburnX SDK is coming.

Thanks in advance.

Got the log. According to it reported speed is 8467 KBps or 48X (correct one). So what the problem actually is?

The Speed coming is 8467 Kbps it's True. But the speed Ratio value I am getting as 52 not the expected 48.
Why?
Kindly look into that. This is StarBurnX VB.NET Sample.

I am also getting his problem, but in addition, my drive does support 52X, but when I get to that level of 9152kbps the speed ratio is reporting 0X.

Hello,

Yes, this fix should be in v 10.5 ... hmm..

- Did you remove the previous version of StarBurnX before the new version 10.5 was installed?

- How the your application refers to StarBurnX? Could you manually update reference to the new version of StarBurnX for your application?

Regards,

Dmitry
