Good morning

I'm evaluating StarBurnSDK and it is working very well for me. I'm using the OCX in C#.

The audio that I am burning comes from one big MP3 file that is 35 minutes long and we need to burn a new 35 minute CD every week.

What we would like to do is have StarBurn set track markers every 2 minutes or so. Thus, the CD would have multiple tracks but the audio would be uninterupted and gap-free from track to track.

This makes it easier for people to see what track they're on when they leave the car and take the CD into the their house.

I know that CDs support this because I've heard albums that run continuously with no breaks yet they have different tracks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - even if it is to say that there is no way to do this.

Thanks
- Shaun

There are two ways of doing this - first one - set Indexes all over the track, second - create TOC with multiple tracks and zero-sized gaps between them. I think most of the software goes second way as not all of the hardware CD players understand first... In theory we can modify our DAO burning engine to support "one track / multiple entries" but it will take quite a time.

It would really be great if DAO could support that in a simple way, but I understand why it would take a lot of work.

So for the second solution, how do you set the gab to 0 using the OCX? I've looked through the Device object using intellisense but can't seem to find any information.

Or does one have to use the DLL directly?

Thanks again and I just released a freeware product into the wild today using StarBurn.

You have to use StarBurn.DLL (or LIB if you're linking statically) directly. Current OCX does not export DAO functionality in a full way. In any case upcoming StarBurnX release in Version 9 will have it :)

That's awesome, I will focus on other functionality until version 9 becomes available!

Can't wait :)

Thanks

I think we'll release StarBurnX *before* releasing version 9... As a separate installation.

Any news on this? I have a few audio tracks and I would like them to be seamless. Right now they are gapless but there is a slight pause between tracks. I would like one track to flow into the other. I have tried TAO with no gap, and DAO but both leave a bit of a hiccup between tracks.

I like the idea of having StarBurn compress my audio in to a single track and letting me set up the track markers.

We don't have any plans to have such a functionality extension.
