 Post subject: Getting Disk Type

I'd like to know if there is a faster way to detect if there is a cd/dvd in a specified drive?
At the moment I'm using StarBurn_CdvdBurnerGrabber_GetInsertedDiscType to detect the media type which works fine....unless there is no disk inserted, if this is the case it takes a long time to return the status (DISC_TYPE_NO_MEDIA).
Is there an alternative way of checking this? or speeding up this process?

Correct! However it's recommended to pass as large timeout to it as possible. It could take quite a long until some devices detect media presence.
