Dear Sirs,

I’ve downloaded your SDK sample in order to investigate its possibilities, and came accross the following problem:

The problem is that, in case of taking the SDK sample TrackAtOnceFromTree.exe and when trying to record DVD+RW/DVD-RW discs (probably DVD+R and DVD-R also) it is impossible to continue recording using Nero. The Nero software at attempt to record such discs opens the message box with the following text «This is not a multisession disc so Nero cannot append files to it. To avoid this problem in the future, make sure you write to your disc with either 'Continue multisession disc' or 'Create multisession disc'». It doesn’t depends on the fact that disc is free or contains any information. At this the standard utility for recording (embedded in Windows) also cannot record on these discs, while the CDBurnerXP Pro 3 utility easlily finishes recording. Probably, other applications would work correctly.

Why is it not possible to record with Burn software?
What it is required to do to escape this problem?

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Dmitry Rudnitsky

This is Nero problem and not StarBurn. It does not parse existing file system structure, rather it relies on "secret" attributes they embedd to the recorded file tree. Quite a lot of other burning tools do exactly the same.

Dear Sirs,
We much appreciate your quick replying. We do understand that Nero doesn't work according with the Standard. But in fact, the majority of users do use Nero Burning ROM as a default application for CD/DVD burning.
Could you please kindly help us to understand, how we can change the given example in order to continue burning using other utilities? Or, probably, could you advise some workaround.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Dmitry Rudnitsky.

There's nothing we can (and want) to do.
